Early Spring Pollinators

Early Spring Pollinators

One of the first things I noticed when spending time in the garden this spring was how quickly the bees appeared.

Early spring can be a difficult time for pollinators. Many bees emerge as temperatures start to rise, but there are often very few flowers available to provide nectar and pollen.

That’s why the first flowering plants of the year are so important.

One of the earliest plants to bloom in the garden has been lungwort, and it didn’t take long for the bees to find it. Watching them move between the tiny flowers collecting pollen was a reminder of how valuable even a single plant can be.

Moments like this are exactly why Bee & Bloom began with the intention of supporting wildlife.

By planting early nectar-rich flowers, even a small garden can provide an important food source for pollinators when they need it most.
